Advising

Majors are required, and minors are encouraged, to meet with a Departmental academic advisor at least once a year. Majors in our Department receive a "hold" on their registration once a year. To have the "hold" removed majors must meet with the advising staff.

For the week of March 3-7 the adjusted hours will be:

Monday 9:00am - 12:00pm
Tuesday 9:00am - 4:00pm
Wednesday 12:30pm - 4:00pm
Thursday 12:30pm - 4:00pm

Starting on March 10 normal hours will resume:

Monday 9:00am - 4:00pm
Tuesday 9:00am - 4:00pm
Wednesday 12:00pm - 4:00pm
Thursday 9:00am - 12:00pm
Friday 9:00am - 12:00pm

What can I do during Walk-In hours?

  • Complete an equivalency petition form for SPONSORED programs (Toledo, Merida, MSID Ecuador, Argentina, Mexico)
  • Sign up for a Declaration Session
  • Drop off petition materials from OUTSIDE programs
  • Pick up or drop off Faculty/Student Contracts for courses taken outside the Department
  • Pick up approved materials from OUTSIDE programs
Fall 2008 Appointment Hours
Appointments are reserved for issues that cannot be resolved during walk-in hours. Please consult with the walk-in advisor first.

When do I need an appointment?

  • Pre-departure advising for all study abroad programs
  • Pre-registration hold removal
  • Registering for SPAN3972W – Graduation Seminar
  • Advising related to courses, progress in major or minor, and related issues
